Capture your baby’s first year milestone with cake smashing fun
Cake smashes have exploded in popularity over the past few years. It’s almost become a rite of passage for babies celebrating their first-year milestone. Your little one has grown and is full of personality. He or She may be walking, talking, singing, clapping, and dancing. Maybe you missed newborn portraits. Perhaps grandma is requesting updated formal photos. Or maybe you need professional pictures to showcase at the first birthday party. Whatever the reason, we love capturing babies at this fun age and have all the tips and tricks to help your baby enjoy their celebration.
Prior to your session, we will have a consultation to plan the details. The studio will provide an infant sized cake and design a set based on your choice of studio backdrops and props. We even carry some girl and boy outfits for your one year old in our studio. Depending on your package, your baby’s session begins with dress up portraits. Next, he/she will change into clothes where they can get messy with cake. After the smash, they’ll have an optional bubble bath to get all cleaned up. After the session, you'll select your favorite photos and decide how you wish to display them.

Can we do the session outside?
At this time, we only do the cake smash in our SW charlotte Studio.
Do you provide decorations?
Yes, we provide decorations that we currently have in studio.
Do you provide cake?
Yes, we use a professional baker for cakes but if your baby has food allergies, we will direct you to one of our Vegan vendors or your own.
Can parents or siblings participate?
Babies at this age get tired or bored pretty quickly. So we like to keep the session to one hour to keep your baby engaged. This is just enough time to do the full smash session. If you’d like family photos, we can schedule those during one of our mini sessions.
When do I get my edited photos back?
Great questions because this is what makes us unique. Your proof reveal day is the same as your photo session. After picking out your faves, Lisa Yvette will edit the ones you love most allowing us to get them back to you sooner, usually a week.
What is required to book?
A signed agreement and a session retainer fee. The upfront retainer fee covers photographer’s time, talent, and materials including:
• your pre-session consultation
• creating your private client portal containing all pertinent preparation details for your session
• access to cake smash wardrobe, props, and accessories
• 1-hour cake smash
• in person gallery reveal and order appointment following your session
• detailed hand edits of your portraits
• all other tasks related to your session
