CAPTURING THE SWEET STAGE OF ANTICIPATION
CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! I’m so happy you are considering me as your maternity photographer. Pregnancy portraits are a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture memorable moments with your partner and show your love for your baby even before arrival. Depending on how you feel at this stage of your pregnancy, you may either be excited and ready to get all dressed up or unsure about whether you want to invest time and money into professional maternity photos. Are you self-conscious about the way your body is changing? Do you have concerns about what you’ll wear or how will you pose? Do you wonder when is the best time to take photos or what to with them once you get them? Well, you're not alone. I will address all of your questions and together we'll PLAN ALL THE DETAILS of your maternity session.
Families come to my studio for stunning maternity portraits that reflect the anticipation, love, and joy their new baby will bring. They leave with high quality portraits to share with family and friends and gorgeous artwork to display in their home.
You have options! You may either book in advance with one of our amazing HAIR AND MAKEUP partners or use your own. The choice is also yours for either a FINE ART STUDIO OR OUTDOOR SESSION. You get to decide what’s best for you.
Though I believe every bump is beautiful, stretch marks and all, let me assure you that you never have to worry about your body. I HAND RETOUCH EVERY IMAGE the way you want to be seen. It’s up to you if you want to be complete covered, expose just your belly, or go full nude. Should you decide to include any partial nude images of you body, rest assured, we will not share them publicly without your permission.
Don't buy a maternity dress that you’ll only wear once. My maternity showroom has OVER 150 MATERNITY WARDROBE ITEMS in various colors, styles, and sizes including FITTED DRESSES, JEWELED DRESSES, BODYSUITS, lace and tulle ROBES, SILKY FABRICS, and COUTURE GOWNS just for you. You'll have full access to all of these, plus a design consultation to decide which pieces are best for you.
My studio is usually booked a few months ahead. Therefore, I recommend you book in the second trimester so that your session can be held between 30-34 weeks. This is the time period when your belly is nice and round but you’ll still be comfortable enough for posing. You have the option of doing a 3pm studio session or an outdoor session during the golden hour.
The entire process is just 3 EASY STEPS:
1.BOOK YOUR DATE: After a pre-booking phone call, I’ll send you a link to book your session which requires a non-refundable retainer and a signed agreement.
2.PRE-SESSION CONSULTATION: We’ll discuss desired poses, backdrops, wardrobe options, hair and makeup, as well as a few tips to ensure your session is everything you want it to be.
3.SHOOT AND REVEAL: On the day of your session, you’ll enjoy a FUN, RELAXED experience including refreshments and your choice of music. I'll guide you and your partner through poses that flatter you and leave you feeling CONFIDENT, BEAUTIFUL, and LOVED. Following your session, we'll review your images and decide which you’d love to keep and discuss options for creating elegant art pieces to showcase. All selected images will be professionally edited to perfection.

WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
Sessions ideally take place 30-34 weeks ideally, but to ensure you get your preferred date, we strongly recommend book at least 3 months prior to time you wish to take portraits
WHERE WILL THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?
You have a choice of either our SW Charlotte studio location or one of our favorite outdoor locations around the city of Charlotte
CAN MY PARTNER PARTICIPATE?
Yes! Dads are welcomed to share the experience with you.
What do I wear?
You are welcome to pick wardrobe items from the studio. We stock over 100 dresses, fabrics, robes, bodysuits and more. Though not necessary, you are welcomed to bring items from home if desired.
When do I get my edited photos back?
Great questions because this is what makes us unique. Your proof reveal day is the same as your photo session. After picking out your faves, Lisa Yvette will edit the ones you love most allowing us to get them back to you sooner, usually 1-2 weeks.
WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BOOK?
A signed agreement and a session retainer fee. The upfront retainer fee covers photographer’s time, talent, and materials including:
• your pre-session consultation
• creating your private client portal containing all pertinent preparation details for your session
• access to maternity wardrobe and accessories
• 1-1.5-hour maternity photography session
• in person gallery reveal and order appointment following your session
• detailed hand edits of your portraits
• all other tasks related to your session
